Nan Newman is an illustrator, photographer, freelance writer and museum consultant.
She is a passionate and dedicated professional who has worked in various capacities for Museums, Art Galleries, Cultural Centres, Performing Arts Organizations, Heritage Agencies, Publishers, Government and the Private Sector in both Canada and the United States. Her experience includes educational program development, community engagement, collection management, integrated pest management, curatorial research and exhibit development.
She has written content for interactive ‘first person’ interpretation, grant applications, exhibit catalogues, didactic labels and promotional material.
She is also recognized for developing innovative and dynamic multidisciplinary programs that are organizationally sensitive and community relevant, designed to extend the boundaries of traditional interpretation.
Personal interests include heritage conservation, the environment and animal welfare.
